Just as an artist who
finds the portrait he drew ruined by the negligent stains of others, would
call back the model he used to redraw the portrait, so did God. To restore
His image that had been corrupted within us, only Christ, the true source of
this image could rebuild it.

The renewal of creation has been wrought by the same Word who made it in the
beginning.
This
great work was, indeed, supremely worthy of the goodness of God. The rescue
of mankind from corruption was the proper action only of Him who made them
in the beginning.
