Morality is an individual’s respect for the
rules of social order and his sense of justice. Moral reasoning passes
through various levels of maturation:
ã
Pre-moral Level:
Punishment-obedience orientation
ã
Conventional Level:
Authority of law and order
ã
Principle Level:
Principals and moral values
Moral reasoning differs
from moral behavior. Knowing what is right does not automatically translate
into doing what is right. Ultimately we seek change of behavior. Christian
behavior is only possible through faith in Jesus Christ and the work of the
Holy Spirit.
Give an example of each level of moral
maturity. |
